Narrowbody aircraft values have recovered to a position where most value appraisers would be happy that Market Values and Base Values (the long term “economic” value of an aircraft) are reasonably in synch, a situation that does not as yet prevail in other segments, such as turboprops, and cargo. The market faces contrarian influences, with oil price and interest rate expectations currency offsetting each other. In this context Aviation Finance asked a number of leading Senior ISTAT appraisers for their assessments of current market conditions.
