John W. Vitale, President & CEO

  Prior to joining AVITAS in 1993, Mr. Vitale was with McDonnell Douglas participating in a broad range of marketing and financing activities. While with Douglas Aircraft Company, he performed market and financial analyses for airline customers in the Western Hemisphere. At McDonnell Douglas Finance Corporation, he was the senior analyst responsible for asset valuations, residual value forecasts, portfolio management and remarketing activities. Mr. Vitale holds a BS from California State University, Long Beach and is an ISTAT Certified Appraiser.

Adam M. Pilarski, Ph.D., Senior Vice President

  Dr. Pilarski joined AVITAS in 1997 after seventeen years as an economist with Douglas Aircraft Company to oversee AVITAS’s valuation and consulting services. He is also responsible for supporting customers with studies including traffic forecasts, economic forecasts, statistical analyses, strategic planning and airline industry issues. As Douglas Aircraft Company's Chief Economist and Director of Strategic Planning he was responsible for all economic analyses performed for the company and was the publisher and editor of the annual "Outlook" publications. Dr. Pilarski holds a Ph.D. in Economics from The University of Illinois, Urbana and a BA and MA from Tel Aviv University.

John D. Hansen, Vice President – Technical

  Mr. Hansen joined AVITAS in 1992 bringing over twenty years of technical management experience in commercial aviation. He is responsible for AVITAS’s technical specialists who perform on-lease, redelivery and prepurchase aircraft and maintenance record technical inspections, asset management programs and other projects requiring specialized technical expertise, aircraft management or project management skills. He joined AVITAS after six years as Manager, Maintenance Operations Center at Eastern Air Lines and service with Saudi Arabian Airlines, World Airways, United Airlines and Lockheed Palmdale. He holds a valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant License and a FCC General Radio Telephone license. He is qualified on most all aircraft types manufactured by Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, Lockheed and Airbus.

Douglas B. Kelly, Vice President – Asset Valuation

  Mr. Kelly joined AVITAS in March 1997 bringing fourteen years of aviation experience. He came from Federal Express where he was the company’s Fleet Planning Advisor and responsible for fleet plan development, aircraft technical and value expertise, analytical modeling support for fleet plans, and the evaluation of aircraft acquisitions and proposals. Prior to joining Federal Express, Mr. Kelly worked at Douglas Aircraft Company as an Airline Planning Specialist where he was responsible for financial and market analysis in support of international sales, development of sales strategies and tactics, and the formulation of new entrant business plans. Mr. Kelly holds a BA from The University of California, Santa Barbara and an MBA from The Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management.

Stephen R. Jarvis, Managing Director, AVITAS Europe

  Mr. Jarvis joined AVITAS in 1998 to assume responsibility for all European operations for AVITAS. He brings sixteen years experience in the air transportation industry, most recently with Air 2000 Ltd., the UK’s second largest leisure airline, where he headed up Corporate Planning activities. His specialties included fleet planning, aircraft acquisition/disposal programs with lessors and business development. Prior to Air 2000, Mr. Jarvis served in the Technical Sales department of British Aerospace’s BAe 146 Marketing team covering accounts ranging from Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe to the United Kingdom. He holds an MSc in Air Transport Management from Cranfield College of Aeronautics and a BSc in Civil Engineering.
